TRANSPORTS

Background

Come to Bordeaux

Throughout the year, the city of Bordeaux hosts international sporting or extra-sporting gatherings. Everything is therefore implemented to facilitate access wherever you come from.

Bordeaux airport offers more than 120 regular lines serving a total of more than 100 destinations throughout Europe plus numerous possibilities for charter flights. It thus benefits from direct connections with most of the European countries.

In addition, Bordeaux airport has daily connections with 9 of the 10 main European hubs: Paris (Charles de Gaulle), Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Madrid, Barcelona, London (Gatwick), Munich and Rome.

The plus: in 2022, the airport will be connected to the tram network which will connect Bordeaux city center with the airport. Participants in the 2023 European Company Sport Games will thus be able to be supported by the organization upon their arrival at the airport and benefit from free public transport. One connection every 10 minutes!

The Saint-Jean station located in downtown Bordeaux has become the crossroads of the South West. A total of 33 direct connections per day are possible with Paris, including 5 with Charles de Gaulle Airport. Paris is therefore located just 2 hours from the 2023 European Company Sports Games..

GETTING AROUND DURING THE EUROPEAN GAMES

Throughout the duration of the Games, participants will be able to use the entire Bordeaux Métropole public transport network free of charge. With 4 tram lines and 79 bus lines, participants will be able to complete the whole
of their public transport trips. This objective is important for our organization, which we want to be as eco-responsible as possible..

It is with this in mind that we have selected all the official accommodation as well as all the sports facilities. Apart from the golf courses for which specific shuttles will be organized, all are located less than 5 minutes walk from a tram or bus stop. Hangar 14 is located near all tram lines.

For those who like to travel by bicycle, you can also take advantage of the network’s 2 self-service bicycles spread over the city’s 000 stations.

Finally, the transport pass offered to each participant will allow you to travel aboard the “BatCub” which connects the two shores of the city by boat throughout the day.
